There's confusion about the new OTC version of Prilosec.
Prilosec OTC contains 20.6 mg omeprazole magnesium per tablet. This is equivalent to 20 mg of plain omeprazole.
The magnesium salt is used so the OTC version can be made into tablets. Tablets are less prone to tampering than capsules.
